Operations

Overview

Zhong Zhou Mining Company Ltd operates as a mineral processing and smelting company, focused on adding value to Tanzania's mineral resources through local beneficiation of nickel and copper ores. Our operations support Tanzania's mineral value-addition policy by reducing the export of raw minerals and strengthening domestic supply chains.

Nature of Our Operations

Zhong Zhou Mining does not engage in large-scale mineral extraction. Our core operations focus on processing, smelting and refining ores sourced from licensed small-scale and medium-scale miners:

  • Receipt and handling of nickel and copper ores
  • Ore preparation and beneficiation
  • Smelting and refining into higher-value concentrates and products
  • Quality control and laboratory analysis
  • Storage and dispatch for local use and export

Ore Supply & Miner Engagement

We work closely with licensed Tanzanian miners to provide a stable and transparent domestic market for nickel and copper ores — purchasing at fair, market-aligned prices, reducing dependence on foreign refineries, and helping reduce mineral smuggling.

Processing Facility

Our processing and smelting facility is located in Zamahero / Mayamaya, Bahi District, Dodoma Region, and includes industrial-scale smelting and processing plant, ore storage and handling yards, environmental control and waste management systems, water supply and treatment infrastructure, power supply with backup installations, and security and access control systems.

Health, Safety & Environmental Controls

Operational safety and environmental protection are integral to our operations: strict workplace safety procedures, regular training and PPE use, controlled waste handling, air-emission monitoring, water conservation, and compliance with approved Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) conditions.

Security & Compliance

Given the high value of processed minerals, we maintain controlled access to processing and storage areas, coordination with local authorities and law enforcement, and compliance with national mineral tracking and reporting systems.
